TASK FIVE - Elimination + Task Six

TOP PHOTO: Jack
Kimberly: Wow. This is astonishing! I understand you have problem with hair but keep experimenting with techniques and you'll find the one that works for you. I also think the shading is a big too dark on the male's torso and it's slightly distracting from the female who is the main point of the graphic. An amazing job though!

Khol: Well well well, you've done it again! I dont think you can improve any more to be honest. The shading is fantastic and I LOVE how you included a male model. It looks so realistic it's crazy! I suppose the only thing you should work on is hair, but you're definitely getting there! Cute, amazing, hot!

Lindsey: Can I just say WOW? Just the sight of that dress instantly sends chills down my spine. I like want it. Now.  With that said, you understand my perspective on your graphic. The hair of both models could use work, but I understand that this comes to a challenge to you. Just keep on experimenting, and you'll go far! The shading is impeccable, though maybe the highlighting is too bright though. I also noticed the legs on the female model are really skinny, and maybe a bit too far apart. This can be a quick and easy fix. Of course, any model for a high end designer has noodle legs and arms, if you understand what I mean... Also, before I finish, I wanted to express the fact that since this is a stardoll graphic competition, I think it'd be better if you used more medolls instead of real people. Although, the fact that you can make realistic faces almost perfectly is admirable.

Kirsten: I love the female model and everything about her, but I feel the male pulls her greatness down a little, I feel it’s the shading of his side closest to her, it’s quite dark so it draws my eyes to it. Otherwise, the technique and skill used are great, and it’s a fab graphic – so graphically, no faults, but my one qualm is how real it looks, almost too real for me to classify as a Stardoll graphic – I get that it wouldn’t have been the same with a Stardoll face, but I think in a Stardoll graphics competition there should have been a little more Stardoll. But overall great job!

CONTINUED AFTER BREAK!
TIED TOP PHOTO: Luisa

Khol: Completely dead, I couldn't breath for a second! Absolutely fantastic, you really nailed it this week Luisa! I loveeee the hair so much and you can tell it's Miu Miu straight away, The shading is fabulous, those shoes are to die for! The only thing i can say i dont really like is the model's expression, it would of been perfect if she was a little happier! Amazing entry though!

Kimberly: One of my favourite things about this graphic is that you can tell it's Miu Miu immediately. I love the shading of everything and the hair is perfect! My one and only complaint here is the background, which is not bad, but it looks very mediocre and average compared to the amazing graphic. It doesn't seem to be blurred well enough and the layers of it are too noticeable  A very strong entry however, well done. I think it's safe to say that there is quite the graphic battle now between you and Jack as you are pretty much tied right now!

Kirsten: Wow! I’m in love! I think your entry was the one I was looking forward to most, and you really delivered! This graphic is just stunning =D The collection is packed with prints, prints and more prints and I think you’ve done really well with the two you went for. I also love the hair, plaits can be tricky and I think you’ve nailed it! If I were flicking through a magazine and your graphic was on a whole page, I’d stop at it, it definitely has that wow factor, well done!

Lindsey: I am a huge fan of Miu Miu, and you made me fall in love with the brand all over again. The hair is literally flawless---I think the shading was near perfect. Not only in the hair, but the rest of the graphic has a near perfect representation of perspective. The face shading is my favorite though, if I must say. The shoes are my one concern, but that's just about it...!

3RD PHOTO: Kasey
Khol: Wow Kasey! You did it again, It's amazing! I think you played it safe using the most simple dress of the collection but you totally rocked it. I don't like the model's face or hair, It just doesn't work for me. The pose is gorgeous and I love how you included Roberto himself. I like the background and scene too.

Kimberly: I really like this. I wish the two were standing more centralised with the flashes on either side as to the left with flashes on them looks slightly odd. I adore both Roberto and the model, although I wish the model's face was slightly different as it doesn't seem to fit with the graphic. Your shading is pretty much impeccable and your graphics always look polished although I wish you would have challenged yourself with more complicated designs. Well done though, another great entry.

Lindsey: Definitely my favorite out of the three entries I saw of yours over at TGV. The shading is amazing, I think you are certainly improving! I find it so clever to not only include Roberto, but make a red carpet event! I felt as if I was on the runway myself. The BMW addition was a clever feature as well. I honestly can't find too much to complain about! If you continue on this path, I have the confidence in you that you can indeed win!

Kirsten: This is really nice, and I like the simplicity of it, especially with the colour scheme. I like the addition of Roberto himself there, but the hand around her waist seems a little odd, I’m not sure if it’s shape or shading, could just be me though. I can’t fault the graphic technique or skill at all, but I can’t help but think it was a safe choice, looking through the collection there were several stand out pieces that would have looked breath-taking, at this stage in the competition standing out is really important, and I think you could really have with a more daring piece from the collection. But overall a good job=)

4TH PHOTO: Joao
Lindsey: Unfortunately you're one of the weaker links in this competition. I think this entry was a step down from your previous entry....And honestly, without the task information, I wouldn't have known which designer you were portraying. From a little research, I learned that Fendi is a rather simple brand, and normally uses black and white in their designs. This graphic is rather colorful, which Fendi is not. Besides that, the shading was poor, and the anatomy is really awkward. The legs and arms are super long and skinny---definitely not in a good way. I honestly can't find anything I like in this graphic. I'm worried if you don't step up your game now, you're going home.

Khol: I can't really tell that this is Fendi. It looks extremely rushed and I'm just not feeling it. Your shading skills have improved greatly, But I think your time has run out in this competition.

Kimberly: Although I don't think you're up there with the three others I just want to applaud you on your improvement throughout the competition. You gave in a very strong first task and it went downhill from there, but over time your skills have continued to improve immensely on skin, face and hair! Although your time may be coming to an end in the competition well done for having such a strong improvement, I'm sure you will continue to go very far in the graphic world if you keep it up and keep practicing. Sadly I couldn't really tell this was Fendi, aside from the bag where Fendi often uses colour. The anatomy seems awkward and it isn't very out there and the bag looks mediocre, however I do really like the skin, face and hair! All I can really do is here ask you to try out other Gd's techniques as it takes quite a while to find the technique that works for you and looks best in your graphics.

Kirsten: Sorry, but I just don’t like this. I don’t feel like you’ve tried hard on it, or that you’ve tried hard to improve your technique or skills on clothing over the tasks. It’s an average graphic, but this is task 5 now, I feel like we should be seeing more from you. It was a very simple piece to choose, and if you’re going to choose a simple piece you need to do it amazingly to make up for complexity, and I don’t feel it’s there. Like all the other collections given to contestants, there were some fabulous pieces, and it just seems like you’ve taken the easy road. I don’t like that you’ve cut it off at the knee – the real photo is full length, and it needs to be full length to look good, all you’ve done is make her look short. Sorry, I’m just not a fan.

Rafael has decided to leave the competition due to personal reasons but there will still be an elimination today and sadly the person leaving is Joao. Although many of your aspects were improving greatly you don't really compare to the top three in the competition and are at a much lower level. However we wish you the best of luck with the rest of your graphic ventures and we're sure you'll become amazing. Thank you for participating!

  6. Jack's was amazing per usual and Luisas was so amazing! however i don't think it's fair that everyone is congratulating them both and isolating Kasey, Kasey is also an amazing graphic designer and I know her entry isn't as strong as Jack and Luisa's but you could all least give Kasey credit too!

  10. I feel like Versace was a bit of an easier brand to depict but i still give props. abby looks like abby. funny that i knew you were going to do this image when i saw it.

I really love Miu Miu & you did the prints? I would had been like ermhghshshs what do i do? but you pulled them off effortlessly. Also thank you for casting me as a model. I knew the graphic would be perfect i had no doubt. I can't wait to see what you do from here on in the competition. Also look how the model looks in the picture Joao made, it doesn't look right really smiling for something 'high fashion'.

And kasey roberto's hair is really nice

This season has been a bit off and on exciting/dull b

  12. (I don't know why but I cannot post comments with my account, so here I go with a stupid anonymous comment!)

phyjükäcüjdüudscä, thank y'all for the overwhelming feedback. You cannot even imagen how happy I am right now.
Btw, So glad that you like what I did to your doll, Mikel! The pattern on the red parts was indeed freehand. The cat was depicted with a real-life reference and then copied and pasted all over the trousers.

And I really feel like honouring Kasey. Gosh, you managed to (almost) finish 3 amazing graphics for this task... And none of them would have been a bad success. I already struggled with finishing just one graphic in time. You go girl!

    Enough talking,

Ich herz euch alle ganz feste! :D<3
